Our First 2x4s & More Art Auction
The first Habitat for Humanity 2x4s & More Art Auction was held Feb. 4 at the Waterhouse on the Peoria Riverfront and it was a great success, with 125 people attending. The event kicked off Habitat’s annual 2x4s & More campaign by raising more than $4,000 to help purchase 2x4s for five houses Habitat plans to build in 2011. Plans are already underway for the 2012 event.
Area artists entered 68 works of art that were sold and auctioned throughout the evening. Great food by the Waterhouse and great music by the Larry Harms Trio made for a fun and much-needed break from the cold and snowy winter weather.
Artist guidelines for the 2012 event will be posted in this space by March 1 and Habitat will begin accepting donated works of art June 1.
